First day of TK

Dearest Ashton,

It was with great joy and a tiny bit of sadness that I kissed you goodbye outside as we walked to your classroom this morning. Thank goodness you made it easy for me as I knew you would. Your confidence and excitement about this new chapter were infectious, and your words of reassurance filled me with pride: “Don’t get sad Momma,” you said. “I’ll be right here, and if you and Kaleia get sad, you can just come back over to see me. Mom I will be fine, I love you"  😁  Then I heard him whispering to Kaleia, as we're walking “Guess what! Today I’m going to the big school and I’m so excited. That's my school!"

You are ready, I know, and I have no doubt that you’ll tackle school with the same intensity in which you approach life on a daily basis. It’s just a bit hard for me to let go. School will teach you many things, and these are the ones I hope most for you.

  • May your innate curiosity never be quelled or shrunk by curricular limitations. Please keep those random, adorable, and intelligent questions coming for the rest of your life. Never stop wondering “why” aloud.
  • May you love learning, revel in the absorption of knowledge, and always hunger for more. Think of school as giving you the tools for learning that you will use for the rest of your life.
  • May books be your best friend forever – as you love to seak new adventures and knowledge.
  • May you learn that people are wonderful. I hope you don’t meet unkindness along the way, but if you do, may it not sour your opinion of others. Everyone has their burdens to bear and their reasons for being the way they are. Be patient, loving, and kind yourself. Your such a lover and sweetheart don't ever lose that.
  • May you always be proud of who you are. Your father and I have raised you to the best of our ability, pouring our hearts and souls into making you the wonderful little boy you are. Remember: There is nothing you can do that will ever stop us from loving you. You’re stuck with us for life! Love you to the moon and back!

Your little sis "bub" and I will be there to pick you up in a few short hours. We did stood at the gate and watched you come out. Kaleia, on the other hand, wanted to pick you up right when we got to your school and she also wanted to take a tour of the school.  She's bummed she didn't start her first day of pre-school today but excited to have you take her tomorrow before you go to school. She loved decorating the house while you were at school and couldn't wait for you to see it all come together. She was such Abigail girl today and was so proud of he big brother!

I love you so much and i'm honored to be your mother. What a privilege it is to watch you grow. Your  the sunshine in my life and the tenderness I adore in you. Always and forever my little pumpkin...

Happy first day of TK... We all love you!!! xoxox😘😥😘
