January is off to a great start

   January has been a fun and full month. Can't believe we're almost done with it already and February will be here shortly. The days keep flying by! Before we know it spring break will be here for Ashton and then will blink and schools out again for summer. Any how, let me fill you in on what's been happening in our world this month.

   First was New Years and our annual family big bear trip. We had a great time. Then it was time for all of us to go back to work and school. But that first Friday after school and work was a big day for us. As you can see above Kaleia got her ears pierced and Ashton got to pick out his huge Lego pirate ship. Fun evening for all!!! 

Family time 

   As for  Ashton, days and school are flying by and he got an award this month for reading and getting to level 15. Two kids were rewarded in kindergarten out of the three classes. Way to go Daniel and Ashton. Your doing great boys!!! He entered the science design tshirt contest so we should find out next week if he wins... Ashton just loves school and everyone in school. They are in the kindness challenge for Kelly and Carlsbad school district. For Ashton this is no hard task. He is a sweetheart and always so friendly and kind to all. He loves this week and wanted to master the whole kindness challenge in a day. If anyone can brighten someone's day it's my little boy. Your doing wonderful AJ. 

   We Can't believe Vday and 100 day of school is just a little over 2 1/2 weeks away. CRAZY!!! 

   Kaleia is my funny, super creative arts and performer. Reminds me of someone I know so well. Ha ha, a girl after my own heart. So to be very honest I've been a bit worried about her going into kindergarten in September and sad to see my baby go to elementary school soon 😥. It's not that we haven't been working on getting her ready for a long time now & she's in pre k - preschool but she didn't really have the interest to learn the core basics in total. Well something changed right before Christmas and truly after Christmas. The first of January was a whole new girl of ours. We're so proud of her. She knows all her sight words and is also writing them, loves to do her worksheets and wants to learn all Ashton's sight words now too! She can almost tie her shoes now too. She's been working really hard to master this so she can tie her shoes just like her big brother does. Ashton and I tried to teach her over the summer because she was so bummed Ashton could and she couldn't, but with summer being all about flip flops it wasn't the best time. So we have started it again. I'm sure she will have this mastered soon enough. The unit in school they have been learning about is space and her planet is Neptune she knows more about that planet & space then I do now. It's great and we have read a lot about space this month as a family too. We have all have space on the mind.

   Jon and I are good to! We were super excited to celebrate his bday present this weekend and go to Lake Tahoe with Brandon and Katie. It was a great trip and it was nice to spend time with my love. Date weekend rocked!!! 

   It's been nice being local all month and not traveling. We've had the opportunity to spend good quality time together and as a family. It also was a bummer we all got sick this month at one point but everyone is on the mend now but me ha ha... Last to get it and no voice for mommy. Well that's how it goes. 

   I was a bit long winded, have a great last week of the month.

//good bye 2015// hello 2016

As we wrapped up 2015... And head into 2016, we are so unbelievably greateful for  our life, family and our friends. We have had a pretty great year. Kaleias in pre k and we just love her school and teachers.  Ashton is loving kindergarten and all the fun that comes with it. Jonathan got a new toy - a boat this year and is loving his new hobby! I've got to spend more time home with my family. We are so blessed to have a happy and healthy fam! 

With a new year and new beginning we are excited for the new year to begin. We love to start out each year fresh with a mini Vac for New Years weekend to the snow... We did just that, and got to spend some quality time together as a family. It's nice to talk about the memories from the year before and enjoy making new ones. 

I'm inspired for 2016 for our family, we have some new changes coming our way we are making and a few that we have already started. All looking in the right direction. We are excited to see what 2016 has in store for our family of 4! Cheers to you and 2016
